No I don't think Jimmy is a horrible person. He's a likeable character. He has charisma which most sociopaths do. I just think that Jimmy isn't the good guy in all this. He never was. That's what this show is showing me. He repeatedly chooses to breaks the rules, he is unprofessional. In every situation Jimmy makes a choice. Chuck didn't cause Jimmy to do anything that Jimmy has done. In my opinion Chuck is a far better person than Jimmy will ever be. Chuck is morally superior to Jimmy. Chuck was always going to be successful stand up guy. Jimmy was always going to be the slippery morally bankrupt guy. But I still love this show. I still feel sympathy for Jimmy. But I also feel sympathetic towards Chuck as well. Ya, completely agree. The writing has set us up identify with the charismatic Jimmy feeling forever wronged by his morally uptight, no fun, batshit crazy brother, but? All things being even, the rivalry worked both ways. I mean, they manipulated a moral 'out' for Jimmy (and us, BTW), in that, when he did that hard cold 'sandbag' on Chuck, who was struggling with his own demons? They played it as a 'it was the right thing to do for Kim'. For what it's worth, if the writers, etc, saw this discussion, they'd probably be proud. It is exactly this type of 'moral ambiguity' both BCS and BB live in.
