That being said - since we're talking College Sports -
What are peoples views here on how young is too young to offer a scholarship?
I think Senior Year in High School should be the one and only year; however that's just me.
Was reading a story yesterday how UCLA and Chip Kelly offered an 8th grader (he's going to be a freshman this year) a scholarship.
Wonder if the kid bombs in high school if they can turn around and nix the scholarship - or if that's viewed as morally and ethically wrong - i.e. as if recruiting a middle school kid and giving him a scholarship is morally and ethically right.
I'm all for giving kids full rides to play sports - they generate a lot of money for the University; however question if a kids head should be filled at such a young age that sports are what matters and not an actual education.
