I love Heartburn, it is one of my favorite of Streep. I feel it is a very rare natural performance she gives here and the film has a nice quirky and easygoing tone to it. Her character has me on her side.
I am glad you like the movie though.
I was just about to reply to your previous pre-edit response. 
I thought I would be bored and ended up being pleasantly surprised. The gentle wry humor just appealed to me and it wasn't as superficial as I had anticipated.
