My favorite of King's 'pseudonymous' novels, and one that I'd love to see made into an intelligent, sensitive film. Unfortunately, I suspect it'll be turned into some piece of action tripe no matter who's starring in it. Back in the day, I could have seen someone like a middle-aged Dean Stockwell playing the character as what he's supposed to be--a man veering into mid-middle age, with the weight of the world on him, and that world coming apart. He could have played that fantastically.
It's my hope that they get a somewhat older and more seasoned actor--maybe not even a 'major' name, though that's doubtful--for the main role, but I don't really expect this; especially not if, as I said, they choose to tilt the story more to actioner than introspective character study.
