Ann Blyth Ann Blyth was born on August 16, 1928 in Mount Kisco, New York, USA. She began her career as a member of the New York's Children's Opera Company and made her Broadway debut in the Lillian Hellman WWII drama, "Watch on the Rhine" (1941). Touring Los Angeles with that play, she was discovered by director Henry Koster and made a string of B movie songfests (she had the voice of an angel) before reaching stardom playing Joan Crawford's daughter in Mildred Pierce, for which she received an Oscar nomination as best supporting actress.
She made a number of musical and dramatic films during her career and later did television until she retired in 1985. She also dedicated herself to family life. She was married to Dr. James McNulty for 54 years until his death in 2007 and has five children.
Among her other notable roles include Brute Force (1948),
The World in His Arms (1952),
Rose Marie (1954),
and The Helen Morgan Story (1957)
Happy 91st Birthday to the lovely Ann Blyth. May it be a joyous one.
