Citizen Kane is overrated for sure as it's no where near as good as critics claim it is. I am confident the common person would not praise it anywhere near how much the critics (over)praise it.
It is overrated. In fact, so is the entire movie...
I love "Citizen Kane", but not because of any technical achievements or influence -- I like the story of power, and the loss of innocence.
