I love "Citizen Kane", but not because of any technical achievements or influence -- I like the story of power, and the loss of innocence.

Nah, it's not. It's influence alone is testament to a that.

A movie's greatness may extend beyond merely story telling.

I have found and truly believe that there is nothing so bad it cannot be made better with a story.
