I frequently hear people say "simular" instead of "similar."
And some people who should know better still say "nucular" in place of "nuclear."
My 'grammar police' tendencies are going to increase - fair warning, everyone! I am doing part-time proofreading for a local newspaper, and, wow, I have found some really bad, as in embarrassing, typos! To me, it is kind of like a treasure hunt, and when I find a bad one, I get to taunt the original writer of the copy!
