Honestly Die Hard feels just as 80's to me. The movie uses a crappy Run DMC song within the first 15 minutes.

I have 8 movies from the 80s on my Top 50 list (Raiders of the Lost Ark, The Thing, The Empire Strikes Back, Die Hard, The Shining, Blade Runner, Evil Dead II, and Batman).

Want to know what they all have in common? A creative and effective score. Even if it’s minimal (ie The Thing) or unorthodox (ie Evil Dead II), it’s genuinely effective in my opinion.

Lethal Weapon’s is not effective or creative. And it’s not just the use of jazz-like music or some synth sound I don’t like. Taxi Driver and Blade Runner have scores that utilize both of those respectively and I love their scores.

I just don’t like it. And I enjoy 80s cinema just as much as the next person.

It is more effective than the Die Hard score and similar in many ways. Same composer and it's very obvious.

Note that none of the songs used in Lethal Weapon are from the 1980's.

I accept the fact that you hate the score as much as I disagree with you, but there is nothing about it that screams 1980's to me.

The Terminator is far more 1980's in feel to me than Lethal Weapon.
