Most reviews are quite strong, a few are negative, like anything, but mostly for political or ideological reasons. They think the message is confused, or muddled, or shallow, just not aligned with their own beliefs.
But for the most part the response is that it's a pretty good subversive drama with a great performance applied to a familiar piece of intellectual property. I don't know if that's pointless or not, but if it's a good film I'll be pleased.
