it has plenty in common with Star Wars, Dr Who, Star Trek, etc. In fact it was better than the Prequels. Nope, GotG1 was a piece of crap and nothing like the Star Wars or Star Trek movies. GOTG had a GOOD scene with Howard. The Howard the Duck scene was a lame scene. DC can't even give us a good scene with Superman. DC had the most famous and iconic scene in CBM history and that scene had Superman in it. In Superman: The Movie, Superman makes his first public save by flying up, catching Lois, and then catching the falling helicopter with one hand, all while John Williams' epic theme is playing. That's the most famous and iconic scene in CBM history. GOTG did a better job being a Star Wars movie than any of the Prequels. And arguably Return of the Jedi. That Howard scene was a good coda. Better than that silliness with Batman in the Knightmare future. Nah, the Reeves Movies were good due to not having competition and no one having real expectations. They wouldn't do as well if released today. |
