Highlander:The Source is pure unadulterated crap with a cartoon character as the immortal villain. They are currently talking about a highlander reboot of the 1986 movie. I hope that none of the people actively involved in the source become involved in the reboot. I'm not holding my breath that the reboot will be any good. They couldn't get 4 sequels right, how are they going to redo the original and do it right? Nothing can beat the original, there will never be a hero as good as Christopher Lambert and a villain as amusing to watch as Clancy Brown. I agree with you. I'm not expecting much from the reboot, if it really happens. I'm just saying that if any of those involved in the source are involved in the reboot all hope is lost for it being any good. Frankly, I don't understand why they want to do a reboot anyway. The 1986 movie is a classic. It's the best thing with the Highlander name on it besides the show. I'm not adverse to another Highlander movie or tv project --- tv would probably be best since they did get highlander the series right. Even now, I think they could do a series featuring Methos. Peter Wingfield would be too old for the role (if he's even acting any more -- I read that he went back to medical school to finish his degree). But, I think the right newcomer could do the role justice and I can see a lot of interesting story lines coming out of a Methos show. I guess a draw back would be, he could not be the highlander -- he's not from the highlands of Scotland. But then neither was Amanda and they did a show with her (which unfortunately was another waste of time and money). Oh well. . . |
