They didn't say it was as good as Star Trek or Star Wars, they were saying its similar in content and tone.
Name 1 villain in any of the Star Trek or Star Wars movies who was defeated by a stupid "Dance-Off".
There were none. That's because Star Trek and Star Wars would never make such a dumb movie where the big bad villain gets defeated bya stupid "Dance-Off". GotG1 wasn't anything like Star Trek or Star Wars in content or tone. GotG1 was garbage and was closer to Howard the Duck in content and tone.
