Yes, it is actually quite a sweet themed film, and the coarse humor and material is also handled quite cleverly, even if it had all been done before. 1984 had a few amusing sex romp comedies released and I think Nerds is the best and funniest of them: Police Academy, Bachelor Party, Up The Creek and there is also The Wild Life, which I have yet to see. Revenge of the Nerds had "heart" and that put it above standard one dimensional sex comedies like Porkys.
