Except Superman II still ended up being awesome. Not so much for Solo....
Yeah, Superman II is pretty good, but I personally find it inferior to The Donner Cut, which shaves off some extraneous sequences Richard Lester filmed so he could be credited as the director and better compliments the first film.
I prefer the Lester version to The Donner Cut. That said, The Donner Cut is just a glimpse at what could have been.
