I searched out the Yiddish films by Ulmer. All seem rough, not the work of a director who had worked at major studios. But tge chance to see Moishe Oysher and Anna Appel was not to be passed up. I got them from the Yiddish book center in Massachusetts. It’s a non profit that preserves Yiddish culture. They collect books and music from people cleaning out homes. They sponsor scholarship and give classes in Yiddish, hold film and art exhibits.
