Actually they played 2. One at Lord's thst Australia won easily and one at Edgbaston England won even easier. Wasn’t that in the World Cup though? That's the point hosko is making, we had the one day World Cup before The Ashes series, to have any more international one day cricket in England this year would be a major over kill. Cricket season finishes here next week. Got the Blast finals day on Saturday and the last round of Count games, and that's it.
