Just watched City Lights for the first time ever. In fact, it's my first Charlie Chaplin movie. I found it to be a delightfully funny and heartwarming comedy. There are many grand moments of inspired slapstick, and the scene with The Tramp getting into all sorts of compromising positions with a statue was a scream. The scenes with The Tramp and the blind woman were touching and bittersweet. And it was interesting how the film ended with such ambiguity.
