The Joker Movie Might Actually Win Best Picture

To be Frank, I have been avoiding the Joker trailer leading into this past week. It wasn’t that I assumed bad things, but I’ve seen too many versions of the Joker at this point in my life to give a damn about one more.
As I went through some of the early buzz for the festival circuit, I finally relented. I was incredibly surprised how invested I was! The cinematography is some of the best I’ve seen over the years (albeit from a trailer - but you can see the love and attention here) and Joaquin’s transformation and commitment to the physical interpretation of the character looks outstanding.
I don’t think trolling Black Panther is needed when looking at this film - it should stand on its own merits. But let’s be honest, I wouldn’t expect anything less from DC-fan as he maintains his heel status on this site.
I am am genuinely excited about this film and do see a ton of merit in the early predictions of cinema genius. Ultimately, the story still needs to be gripping, and I can’t judge that until viewing - but I am bloody excited and hopeful that it measures up to this lofty expectation.
