Jesus' 'slaves' (doulos), was mistranslated as followers. even if that were true regarding the word it still would not mean she wasn’t a virgin. How many virgin births have you witnessed? On the the other hand, virgin births are a common motif in the mythology of the day. And as pointed out that the Hebrew “alma” does not necessarily mean virgin, indicates the Gospel writers redacted this translation later as a means to fit with some of the more popular Greek and Roman cults at the time.* This also elevated the BVM to near goddess status or possibly as Holy Wisdom or the Mother of God. *The virgin Isis gives birth to Horous. The virgin Persephone gives birth to Dionysus and Jason. The ancient Hebrews held that all men and women should procreate. This diminishes the notion they expected the messiah to not be human in every way including two human parents.
