I searched out the Yiddish films by Ulmer. All seem rough, not the work of a director who had worked at major studios. But tge chance to see Moishe Oysher and Anna Appel was not to be passed up. I got them from the Yiddish book center in Massachusetts. It’s a non profit that preserves Yiddish culture. They collect books and music from people cleaning out homes. They sponsor scholarship and give classes in Yiddish, hold film and art exhibits. 1939 Americaner Shadchen 1939 The Light Ahead 1939 Cossacks in Exile 1938 The Singing Blacksmith 1937 Green Fields 1937 Natalka Poltavka Cossacks In Exile and Natalka Poltava were, actually, Ukrainian-language films, not Yiddish. They were produced by Vasile Avramenko, a Ukrainian national in exile, living in Canada, who came to the US to find funding, locations and (some) personnel.
