First saw it on VHS. Thought it was pretty good. Didn't revisit until a few years later with a DVD copy. Numerous repeated viewings have since reinforced my opinion the movie is fucking great. Have you seen the Extended Director's Cut of it where they show both the Colony (before it was taken over by the Aliens) and when Newt's Family discovers the Derelict Ship and her father is facehugged ? The extended cut is the only version I've ever watched.
