So we know it's legitimate Oscar material before it's even released and because it won an obscure European film festival award? Doesn't sound too objective. Let's see how it's rated in other film festivals. Let's see how it scores with fans and critics after release. Let's see how it does with BAFTA, Actors Guild, Golden Globes. Isn’t Venice Film Festival one of the most prestigious film festivals in the world? It's not usually considered a barometer for the Best Picture Oscar winner. Cannes is probably the one that is looked to most in film festivals. And other awards like the Golden Globes even more than that.
