- not with people trying to help you understand what God says about it. a bit of context may help in the
proper understanding of scripture. [ for those who would like to learn something & follow along - Genesis 18:1 - 19:29 ].
i'll give you the gist. God is establishing His covenant with Abraham. 3 men visit him. they tell Abraham God has sent them
"because the outcry against sodom and gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grave, I will go down now and see
whether they have done altogether according to the outcry against it that has come to me; and if not I will know". Gen 18:20,21
so Abraham bargains with God, asks about saving the city if there are 50 righteous in the cities, 45, 40, 35...down to 10.
( Lot, Abraham's friend was in sodom ).
now Lot was sitting at the gate of sodom. he welcomes 2 strangers and Insists they stay with him at His house. Gen 19:1,2
"now before they lay down, the men of sodom, both old and young, all the people from every quarter,
surrounded the house. And they called to Lot and said to him, "where are the men who came to you tonight ?
Bring them out to us that we may know them carnally". Gen 19:4,5
Lot steps outside and shuts the door behind him. he says "Please, my brethren, do not do so wickedly". Gen 19:7
the mob says "we will deal worse with you than with them" and tried to break the door down. the angels grab Lot and pull him
inside. "And they struck the men who were at the doorway of the house with blindness, both small and great, so that
they became weary trying to find the door". Gen 19: 9-11
the angels tell Lot to get "whomever you have in the city- take them out of this place, for we will destroy this place,
because the outcry against them has grown great before the face of the Lord, and the Lord has sent us to destroy it". Gen 19: 12,13
in the morning, the angels help Lot and the others escape the destruction of the cities, told them not to look back.
" then the Lord rained brimstone and fire on sodom and gomorrah., from the Lord out of the heavens, so He overthrew those cities,
all the plain, all the inhabitants of those cities". Gen 19:24,25 Lot's wife looked back & turned to a pillar of salt. 26
you mentioned child sacrifice. may nations around then were Evil. - the land of canaan was rife with Idolatry -
they burned their children alive to demons.
God also destroyed this evil from among them.
Jesus said , speaking of any one who would harm the little ones, " it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around
his neck, and he were drowned in the depth of the sea". Matt 18:6
you decide for yourself what fate you choose.
God speaks Very clearly for Himself.
some things are just not funny. this sin can be repented of
1. I find your posts arrogant ( in style and presentation), uninformed and pathetically brainwashed.
2. You are welcome to your views however you must expect some logical opposition to them on here.
3. See the bolded part about homosexuals. ANY of your friends or acquaintance who were homosexuals ARE STILL NOW homosexuals as they are born and not made and hence not 'sinful' even in your blinkered view.
speaking of arrogance, you presume to know about numerous people I have known for Many years. i ran support groups for abuse survivors, i studied
psychology in college & all my life.
not one i knew was "born that way". God doesn't make mistakes.
the Inclination for what God calls sin - is within all of us. we All have our weaknesses - those "irresistible impulses" some make excuses for.
they Chose that lifestyle. all had life situations or trauma as primary contributing factors.
most have died of drugs, alcoholism or aids. some are addicted to having Numerous "partners".
some resisted the temptations, learned and healed enough to change their ways.
i don't believe for a minute anyone was "born" that way. it makes their excuse they "can't help themselves".
the worst ones were the predators. you don't Want to know their stories.
from each of their sins, Hundreds of True victims. rapists and pedophiles. and worse
