I know that there are Christians that are battling against homosexuality, but I'm not seeing where we are told to fight such a battle.
A Christian is by definition, someone who follows the teachings of Jesus Christ. I can't interpret his teachings as anything close to telling us to get into some sort of war with homosexuals.
Do I find in reading the Bible that homosexuality is stated as wrong? Yes, I do. The bible states a lot of things are the wrong things to do, some things I do every day. I need to work on my own sins a whole lot before I go working on what anyone else is up to.
I don't see the message of Jesus Christ as commissioning anyone to go out into the world and right all the things one finds from reading the Bible stated as wrong. Actually in reading the Bible, I believe much of his story was about his battles with those who were more about enforcing interpretations of religious texts on others than seeking a personal relationship with God.
The message of Jesus Christ, and what being a Christian is to me, is to show others who Jesus is, why he came, and how he gives hope to all to develop a personal relationship with God. I don't see that message as instructing people to go through the Bible and point out to others what it says is not the right thing to do.
