Am I the only one who thinks that album is overrated? At the height of their popularity, they could've released an album of their farts and it would've been praised. 1. As another pointed out, when "Sgt. Pepper's" was worked on and released, The Beatles weren't at the height of their popularity. They were, however, at the height of their musical powers. 2. I am the biggest Beatles fan on planet Earth. Yes, "Sgt. Pepper's" is an insanely overrated album. Of their 13 albums it sits around 10th. While the majority of Beatles albums will have just one or two weak songs on it, "Sgt. Pepper's" has six or seven bad songs. It has more bad songs than good. That makes for a very poor album. One thing, though, must be considered. The album is a remarkable breakthrough in pop/rock music. It pushed creative boundaries like nothing before it. For that I can see why it is so highly regarded. But for the actual songs...they are mostly poor. A weak album musically, a massively strong album historically.
