that here in the twenty first century
we still have monkeys
refusing
to leave trees
professing that gods
are demanding
everything
from a bloated self righteousness
to a bent knee pretty please
then i guess it's
no surprise
that we still have among us
people who
wholeheartedly believe
you can pray away the gay
just don't say
anything in spanish
at your local mcdonalds.
