I know. It's what's singularly horrifying about those who've surrendered their minds to this kind of rightwing agitprop. Anything you try to counter it with is immediately dismissed out-of-hand as 'liberal fantasy'; or worse yet, in some cases, is actually spun to reinforce (in their own minds) the 'point' they were making.

It's not difficult to see the appeal of Trump to this sort. Trump has practiced that sort of demented reasoning for so long it's become more real to him than any external truth could hope to be, and his followers seem to have all evolved out of the same insane gene pool.
