The Prestige I like what he tried to do with the Interstellar finale, but I didn't love how it was executed. Inception was solid, Memento was clever. I'd like to say TDK had a fantastic ending, but TDKR was so terrible that it ruined the ending to TDK. "So we'll hunt him, because he can take it. He's a silent guardian, a watchful protector; A dark knight." And the guy apparently immediately retires and goes into hiding. The ending to TDK makes absolutely no sense when put into context of TDKR. TDKR is complete nonsense from start to finish, which why I pretend TDKR never happened. Luckily TDKR didn't need any help to ruin its own ending, it ruined itself. Bruce sacrificing himself, or leaving it ambiguous, are both okay ways to end the trilogy. It's a little silly that it turns into the "some days you just can't get rid of a bomb" scene, but I digress. Then Nolan has to throw in that one shot of Bruce sitting there nodding to Alfred, completely shitting the bed. And no, fanboys, the fact that Nolan has one other movie with an ambiguous ending doesn't mean this one does. Famous billionaire Bruce Wayne is 100% there, in public in broad daylight despite pretending to be dead, having somehow gone to Al's favorite restaurant on the exact same day and time he'd be there, having somehow escaped a nuclear blast with 5 seconds to spare. Fuck. That. Bullshit. But yeah, speaking of actual ambiguous endings, Inception gets my vote.
