That seems like a nothing article, trying to make something more out of a tongue-in-cheek response than there probably actually is. It seems doubtful they would have tried to get Nicholas-fucking-Case to appear in a cameo for a CW event; especially since he never truly played Superman.
Now, if they had hinted at being in contact with Dean Cain, that would seem more credible.
