There are things you can only know by experiencing it yourself. Science is lacking and limited, so it can't prove everything. They don't know how the mind works. They don't know how the imagination works or even what it is.
They talk about 'God of the gaps', yet they use that themselves with their 'brain of the gaps' and use that to explain every phenomena that they can't explain.
