Why does Hollywood keep trying to push high frame-rates?

Apparently Gemini Man is the latest movie being shown with a high frame-rate, and most people seem to think it looks weird.

Audiences: "We don't like the way it looks."

Hollywood: "It looks BETTER, damn it!!!"
