"Mother's Day" (1980) - look what is about happen here. I often forget to mention this horror film and I have always liked it. I think because it is a tad sadistic, cruel and sick, I don't really want to admit that I enjoy it. The thing is, it has quite a sharp sense of satire and 3 protagonists that you care about and 3 antagonists that are quite fascinating to watch.
"Mother's Day" does stand out from the rest of the low-budget horror films from that era. In fact, it doesn't even feel like it belongs to any genre. I have heard it often described as sick and I guess it is, but I am just a bit hesitant to claim that I understand why this is. The sickest part for me was at the beginning when they turned the tables on that nasty, white trash girl with the eye liner and cut her throat. I did like the three girls. And the mother was fascinating. And thank you for supplying the perfect gif from the movie, Toasted Cheese! Sometimes my computer doesn't do what I tell it to!
