The Taking of Pelham 123 (1974). Favorite go-to action thriller, with just the right mix of fast-paced suspense and dark humor. And that ending is killer! What did you think of the Remake with Denzel Washington and John Travolta ?
I myself like it.
LOL, I actually even watched it the other day.
Tastes have to differ here. I hated the remake. Maybe in part because I feel like the original film captures what I think of as 'my' New York so wonderfully, and I just didn't feel anything about the switch in locale to the DC Metro; also, I think the original has a great quirky feel to it, which makes it as much character play as straight-up actioner, and the remake just came across as mindless bang-up instead. But the main plot point is still intriguing and rather likeably daft in both versions, so a lot of the preference probably speaks generational thing as much as anything else.
