Miley was god awful in September. He only made it out of the 5th once in his last five starts (that was a blowout against KC). He gave up 7 runs in a third of an inning against Oakland, four runs in one inning against the Trout-less Angels, and five runs without recording an out against the woebegone Mariners. Maybe his arm is dead. But I's still rather go with Wade Miley than a rookie. His postseason stats aren't bad. Peacock opened and looked great doing so. A much better call to start. You simply cannot start a rookie in a big game like this. The second they get into trouble, they unravel. Rick Ankiel, Salomon Torres (not a playoff game technically, but it might as well have been).
