That Ankiel thing was crazy. He had such a brilliant rookie year too. Was it the NLDS where he first developed the yips or was it the last game of the year? I remember he started a game in the NLCS against the Mets after that, he sailed two balls in the 1st inning and TLR got him right out of there. There's a whole chapter in LaRussa's Three Nights in August about Ankiel and his pitching woes. I think he said that it was the biggest mistake he made as a manager.
