I will say this much...I have no idea what the overall presale numbers will be (though I'd expect them to be big), but when I bought my ticket yesterday (probably 12 hours after they'd already been on sale) the theater was virtually empty. Granted, I bought them for Xmas Eve morning because they were cheap and I refuse to pay full price for this thing. But therein is part of my point...tickets are $5.00 on Tuesdays at the chain I bought from, it's an 11:30 showing so not really early, and everybody is off school that day. Yet there were seriously only a handful of seats that had been sold after being on sale for half a day. I thought that was pretty strange. But how many other massive films have you tried to buy a ticket for showing on Christmas Eve 5 days after its release date? It's only really odd if you have something to compare it to. On the rare occaisions I have bough advanced tickets for massive films I've never had problems getting seats for shows 3 or 4 days after release, days after they start selling. Plus the target audience for that time of day during a school break don't really have credit cards to buy their tickets. It's not really up to them if they can skulk off to the cinema when other family plans may be or are being arranged (I'm sure this doesn't make a huge dent in the numbers but it is one consideration)
