I would have to say, it is probably due to a "Lack of Solid Evidence"...
One would think that with all the technology that we have today, and with humans living just about everywhere on the planet... Their existence should have been proven by now.
But then again, it was hard to believe that in 2014, a major passenger plane could simply disappear without a trace... and yet one did!
I think many people today have this belief that because we have a lot of technology, and that we went to the moon 50 years ago... "That there is no more to learn" about our planet... Maybe, "we've only just begun"!
I try to be open minded to the possibility...
But, as I suggested, there is just SO little evidence, and nothing "SOLID"...
What ever "solid" means.
