What reasons shouldn't it be r rated? To sell toys or make it family friendly? As I said....I don't care if it's R-Rated or not, but I'm not going to insist it should be, and assume before they have even announced a director let alone start filming, that it needs to be. Why it makes sense not to be R-Rated - to appeal to a wider audience, to allow a wider audience, franchise continuity and yes "selling toys". The whole Joker did so Blade could as well argument makes no sense. Blade will be part of a series, a franchise. Joker is removed from any other DC franchise or series, and it's likely that it will remain that way - it's a story about a man who dresses as a clown and then loses it...as far as I know The Joker was never a clown of any sort before he turned to crime, there was never a character called Fleck...it's a "Joker" film in name only with Wayne and Gotham thrown in. It's isolated from the DC universe. Blade will not be isolated from the MCU unless there are plans not yet released. But it's just a valid argument as one that says it should be r-rated because the later books are more violent....books influenced by the earlier film which ignored much of the characters comic history - Blade didn't actually have any powers, other than bite immunity, until after the film was released . I d respect your Argument more if you had legit Concerns. I brought Joker up because it puts all these concerns to rest. Joker got a wider audience with an r rating which you guys think is impossible. Toys shouldn't be a concern,Todd Phillips himself said he had to fight for a r rating with those concerns which paid off in the end. An r rated movie could make a billion in the future if that's a concernm Blade should be in a new canon if they aren't gonna give him or any of the mature characters r ratings in the current
