Same here. I turned 40 this year and I look significantly younger than guys in my office who are in their early 30s. They're all overweight, balding and have this weird, pale pallor. I'm in much better shape than I was when I was 30 and I attribute it all to eating right (or at least better) and getting tons of exercise. I don't drink beer so much anymore but I do enjoy red wine with dinner and a small glass of scotch on the weekends. Everything in moderation. Never mind looking better, people would feel better if they put a little effort into it. Work out and watch what you put into your body. I'm not a Mormon or a TB12 method kook or anything. You can drink alcohol on occasion or even eat fast food once in a while. But if you do that stuff every day, you're going to feel it, and not in a good way. I agree. I like to have fun and I watch what I eat, but I am not on some crazy diet. All it takes is trying to pay attention to what you eat and working out. I see dudes 15 years younger than me who look terrible. It is crazy to me.
