Maybe so. My sense is that we aren't going to get that far. I've discussed this with trained scientists, and they're inclined to agree. We're driven to seek newer worlds, move onward and upward (as it were). It's human nature. On the surface of things this seemed inevitable, yet we have neither the time (on this planet), nor the resources (on this planet), to get too far into outer space.
It's a dream, and a dream worth pursuing, but is there a Star Trek kind of future in the making? I think not. There are limits to what man or any living creature (that we know of) can do; and there are things we cannot do, such as achieve immortality; as well as,--and I'm guessing here--bopping around the cosmos in a few million years. I BELIEVE that NO humam will EVER go outside of our own solar-system. Unmanned probes, yes...person/people...NO!
