I really do think it's a very good movie. It has a big cult following. What really hurt the success of the movie was that it was taken out of the theaters very quickly because of the negative publicity surrounding some other youth gang films at the time like Warriors and all that. And it had very good rock music in it. Well at least for my taste I thought so

I have never seen Rumblefish but in reading the description of the movie, they don't sound so similar. Over the edge didn't have any gang things in it but rather a whole group of kids that went to the same school and lived in the same area
