Solid flick, though it dragged a bit at times. Surprised it got made in all honesty. It didn't really occur to me that it wasn't actually about anything until I tried to explain the plot to my wife. Definitely more of a character driven story, though nobody oozes charisma in this one. Norton does a great job and the mystery drives the movie forward but ultimately underwhelms as far as reveals go. I enjoyed the ambiguity of it all. There aren't any real 'heroes' in the story and in the end (spoilers ahead) they can't stop the villain from doing what he's going to do. Everyone sort of gets on with their life, roll credits. Every once in a while a film like this comes out, and I understand why it failed at the box office even if I think it's a solid viewing experience. I guess it also took around 20 years of development which is nuts! Norton probably could've gotten this made quicker if he hadn't burned bridges at all.
