I was a Dale Murphy fan and he did well with his time in Philly but his numbers just don't flesh out a hall of fame career. He played 18 years and yet still couldn't crack 400 homeruns. Dave Kingman has the most homeruns for a player not in the hall(442) but he was an all or nothing guy. At least Murphy was a 2 time MVP, 5 time gold glover, and a 4 time silver slugger winner but his latter years are what's keeping him out. Mattingly not being in is a shocker to me. Oh, fun fact about Kingman: He's the only player in history to play in all 4 divisions(when there were only 4) in a single season. 1977 he played for the Mets, Padres, Angels, and Yankees.
