In the last couple of weeks, I have had a resurgence of interest in Cornish game hens. It's been years since I've done them, but they're on the "try again, soon" list.
There are several videos on YouTube that I have been viewing. A number of those videos mention the hens as a great alternative to the Thanksgiving turkey. They're easier/faster than turkey, and for a small group, you don't need 9 pounds of bird.
