I think the next best thing is to use the "bookmark" function (under actions). Then you can store threads to come back to in your 'Bookmarks' section next to your 'Profile'. That's what I'm going to start doing.
While that may be fine for some, it's become a principal thing for me. I will continue my fight for animation respect no matter what.
