Biggest difference between classic and modern movies

The biggest difference between today's movies and movies from Hollywood's Golden Age is that today's movies act like they have the earned the right to be respected and believed to be true.   Older movies were so much more intelligent in that they knew they were all about fun and escapism and melodrama.  Unless it's one of those to come out of the zeigeist of the 70s and somehow "reality"didn't feel like so much a joke ("Alice Doesn't Live Here", "Mean Streets", "Fat City", "Klute"), but those were exceptionally good movies. 

A pet peeve of mind is all the total casualness where bad language is used.  Once in while, for effect - comedic or humorous - is okay.   But when the "F" bomb gets used like '137 times in one movie, it's just gross and unpleasant and very immature.   And it adds zero to the movie or the plot.  It just gets away.  And for some reason,when younger people are the ones doing most/all of the cussing, I think it's really sad and depressing.

I think Millie only said "shit" once and it was only because her roommate was in the hospital and she didn't know how to contact Pinky's parents, and somebody suggested for her to send a telegram.  Of course, Millie had never sent a telegram before, neither have I, and she just felt frustrated and upset about the scenario and said "shit"one time before she got the sniffles.   Millie must have had awful parents,as they taught her nothing about the society is beneath the surface and for her to take her own self just a bit more seriously than she does.   Also, neither one of her parents seemed to know how to cook worth a darn.   And I do think that a young person (from a certain time person) should need to know some Western Union and how to send/receive a telegram,know hoe to clean the dishes properly and at least to get their borrowed books to the public back on the time.  It's an easy road to accepting some life responsibility.

Also,finally(and I know I have veered wildly of the OP, please do forgive my hogging ways),I do very, very much believe there needs to be a family pet.   Cat or dog,I guess are the two obvious options.  I prefer dog (until the reach five feet at your hip)  First,the mom/dad has chosen to enter  a lovable, likeable ssweet and sentimental creature in the fanily fold becase of th personality and affeciton the are bringing to their their own special family.   But,and gosh darn it, this will likely introduce the harsh and cold and rough nature of the world.  Nobody can tell the kids what's goiig  with "Mr Belevedres' cat or Roosevelt's White West Trueblood Terrie.  As so cold cruel as it is seems,I think also single 6 or 7 or 8 facts of taking care of their own pet (allergies, health related issues aside)  The kid pushed will the pet's forward 9/0 and given strong,caring, compassionate for your furry legged fee.  Without knowing about these early lession,welll.....o
