I'm not sure how I feel about the new hospital set. I felt like the old one was so iconic. I also miss the old police station set and the old DiMera mansion which seems to be done now.
I'm okay with the new hospital set. It is iconic, but it also sometimes feels like it's so big and pervasive that sometimes they just have scenes set there that don't have to be, just to use it. I wouldn't mind them paring down how many people are in the hospital at any given time, so this might help.
Police station, yeah, I miss. Particularly I miss how they got rid of the commissioner's office, so people are always taking meetings in the interrogation room and stuff.
I'm thrilled that they seem to have gotten rid of the DiMera mansion. I'm sick of that set and how overused it's been. I really don't like the modern concept of the DiMeras as a corporate family running a business which was never what the deal was. Was 90s Stefano supposed to be... sitting on conference calls and looking over spreadsheets? They were just a mysterious exotic family of supervillains. They're not the Kiriakises. I think this show could use a DiMera break, frankly. Stefano's gone (or... at least he should be with Joe gone), it's time to let it go. And stop with the Stefans and the Andres and faux-Kristens to try to weakly keep it going.
