None of that was ever the case though. He didn't put his fellow soldiers at risk. He saved them. Clearly he can fight for himself or else he wouldn't have done those things. He was able to fight only AFTER he took the super-PED. But before he was given the super-PED, he was a skinny weakling who couldn't fight for himself and needed Bucky to step in and save him. Yet he selfishly wanted to join the Army knowing that he couldn't fight for himself and would be a liability on the battlefield and would put his fellow soldiers at risk. That was extremely selfish and lacking of any character. What's this about stealing Peggy? If he enters the timeline when she's single, her future history isn't written yet. He traveled back from 2023. In Civil War, Peggy Carter died after living about 7 decades after Rogers was frozen in ice in 1945 so Peggy Carter's history has already happened. By traveling back in time and stealing Peggy Carter away from the man she's supposed to marry, Rogers ensured that Peggy Carter's children with the man she's supposed to marry will never be born. Rogers' selfish actions have effectively wiped out those children from existence. That's what matters most. He was never a liability on the battlefield. He went from being saved by Bucky in the alley to saving Bucky from the Nazis.
And Peggy's no one's to steal. She's her own woman and she chose him.
