Beyond that, one of the greater marketing tricks that brands like McDonald's have ever pulled off - the idea that it's actually fast and convenient. If you're driving and want to eat it in the car, sure, but as a meal to eat at home? Assuming you live within a 5 minute drive of a McDonald's, and it takes, I dunno, 2 minutes from the time you pull up to the drive-in until you get your food, that's 12 minutes. In 12 minutes, you can cook a few pieces of chicken breast, roast vegetables in the oven and make some brown rice on the stove for your entire family to enjoy, all for about $10 worth of groceries AND have leftovers.
We don't even need to get into the health benefits of one versus the other, as everyone on the planet knows that.
